Since falling in love with Estee Lauder's Double Wear foundation, I've been searching for the perfect brush to apply it with. My beloved buffing brush just isn't working for me with this foundation, it seems better suited to either more liquid formulations or mineral powders. I was enjoying using my Sigma F80 flat-topped kabuki, but it soaks up so much foundation! After reading a huge amount of awesome reviews of the Expert Face brush I took the plunge and ordered it, and as always with Real Techniques, I wasn't disappointed.
The expert face brush is a flattened, smaller buffing brush which allows you to 'paint' on product as well as buffing it in easily and quickly. The close-packed synthetic hairs give a flawless finish to your foundation, and easily builds up coverage without leaving you looking caked in make up. It works really well with thicker formulas such as Double Wear, but its also the perfect partner for liquidy foundations - I love using it with Bourjois 123 Perfect too. The only form of foundation it isn't so good with is powder; I always reach for my buffing brush with my L'oreal True Match Mineral Powder. I initially only bought the Real Techniques Core Collection for the buffing brush, but I should have just bought this brush, as I rarely use the other brushes from the Core Collection and I could have saved myself a few quid! This is a really high quality, value for money make up brush that definitely deserves it's hype. Real Techniques, you've done it again!
I love the real technique brushes, they are such good value for money and really good quality :) I haven't tried the expert face brush though :)
