Liquid Lipsticks

The beauty blogging world has gone mad for liquid lipsticks lately, myself included.  I am definitely not one for keeping up with lipstick maintenance - I will leave that bright red shade wear of until I'm left with an unsightly ring around my lips before I remember to reapply, so these matte long lasting shades are right up my street.  I don't have a huge collection, but I have quite a few liquid lipsticks now and I can't stop reaching for them.

Matte formulas are my go to when it comes to bright lipsticks.  I can get a more opaque, even colour and I don't end up with it smeared across my face.  The Matte Lip Gloss from Born Pretty in the deep vampy red is a gorgeous shade, but unfortunately it's the worst formula I own.  It's pretty patchy and uneven, and it never seems to dry completely, leaving an slight stickiness on my lips.

The Bourjous Rouge Edition Velvet in Ole Flamingo is a beautiful bright pink.  It dries to an even and opaque finish, and it's so comfortable to wear.  It does need a touch up every now and again, but regardless of how much I layer this, it's never uncomfortable.

The Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 01 is my absolute favourite liquid lipstick.  The formula is so light that once applied, I can hardly feel it on my lips, the shade is a perfect true red (swatch above) and it's seriously long lasting.  It's love - I've got my eye on Watermelon Slice next!

It took me a little longer to try them, but liquid lipsticks in a lighter shade are pretty brilliant too.  I am in loooove with the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm.  It's the perfect warm-toned nude.  It isn't as long lasting as any of the other options, but it's a bargain and easily accessible now they're available from Bots online.

Since I was so in love with the Sephora Cream Lip Stain in 01, I bought another shade - Pink Souffle.  Although it is the same brilliant formula, the shade just isn't right for me.  it's too blue toned for my skin tone and there is pretty obvious shimmer running through it which doesn't suit me.

My newest addition is the Colour Pop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Solow.  It's everything I wanted the Sephora Cream Lip Stain in Pink Souffle to be.  It's a really easy-to-wear pink which is long lasting and not a hint of shimmer.  I love it, and I'm already planning my next purchase.
