Liquid Lipsticks

The beauty blogging world has gone mad for liquid lipsticks lately, myself included.  I am definitely not one for keeping up with lipstick maintenance - I will leave that bright red shade wear of until I'm left with an unsightly ring around my lips before I remember to reapply, so these matte long lasting shades are right up my street.  I don't have a huge collection, but I have quite a few liquid lipsticks now and I can't stop reaching for them.

ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Solow

After reading so many incredible reviews of ColourPop Ultra Matte Lipsticks, I was desperate to get my hands on one.  Lately I've been loving matte liquid lipsticks (along with everyone else!) and was too tempted by the huge range of colours on offer from ColourPop.  Colourpop Cosmetics isn't particularly easy to get hold of in the UK so I did a bit of research and ended up risking an eBay order.

Back in December, there was a choice of Clinique free gifts with Glamour magazine.  I had heard incredible about these Pop lipsticks, so as soon as I saw that there was a nude one up for grabs, I was desperate to get my hands on it!

I was lucky enough to receive some beautiful Charlotte Tilbury make up from my parents for Christmas and over the last few weeks I have further and further in love with these beautiful bits.  These products have been on my wishlist for so long and I was over the moon to open them on Christmas day.

MAC Cut A Caper

I am a coral lip addict, I can't resist buying endless peach and coral toned lipsticks and I've built up quite the collection.  Cut a Caper was on my wishlist for years but it was always so hard to find because it's usually released as part of a limited edition collection, but I finally managed to grab it earlier this year.and I'm so happy I did!

Last week I turned 22 (I don't know about you, but I'm feeling twenty twoooo...) and I was lucky enough to receive some beautiful presents.  This little Bobbi Brown beauty was a gift from my Mum after seeing me spot it in my local CCO shop.  This is the first Bobbi Brown product I've tried, and it hasn't disappointed!

NARS Red Square

All you have to do is scroll down this page to realise that the NARS velvet matte lip pencil in Red Square is an absolute beauty.  After reading endless amazing reviews of these pencils, specifically this shade, I couldn't resist adding this to my basket while making a Debenhams order.

Favourite Lipsticks

Over the last few years I have gathered quite a few lipsticks in my stash.  They range all shades, brands, finishes and prices but I can't help having a few favourites that I just can't get enough of!

MAC Lipstick Collection

Being in a shop that stocks MAC is like being in a sweet shop.  It's pretty hard to make any kind of decision, but I'm usually drawn to the lipstick stand - even if I don't buy one I end up with a hand covered in swatches.  I bought my first MAC lipstick in 2011, and now I have a little collection of 9 lipsticks that I'm very happy with.

YSL Rouge Volupte in Peach Passion

When I popped to Cardiff with my Mum back in February half term I still had a Boots gift card knocking around in my purse which (for once) I didn't know what to spend on.  I've wanted the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte lipstick in Peach Passion for probably years, equally because of the beautiful shade and the gorgeous packaging, so I snapped it up and I'm over the moon that I did - it's gorgeous! I've been on the look-out for a wearable pink lipstick for a while.  I wanted a true pink shade, with a bit of staying power which would be acceptable for daily wear.  I'm training to become a primary teacher, and bright lipsticks don't go down too well in school, so I fancied a pinker option for when I wasn't reaching for MAC Coral Bliss or Dior Addict in Bow.

Although my collection of MAC lipsticks is a small one, I'm really happy with it - I have shades for all occasions and I regularly reach for all five options.  I love high street lip products, but there's nothing like the longevity, pigmentation and delicious scent of a MAC lipstick.

I do love my MAC lipsticks, even though I have a compact collection of just a few shades I reach for them most days.  Although I adore my bright lipsticks, over the last few weeks I've been fancying a more neutral shade which I can wear on an every day basis.  I headed to the MAC shop planning on buying Shy Girl after reading a truck-load of amazing reviews, is it me or does everyone love Shy Girl?!  However, after swatching it, it just wasn't for me - I'm not a nude lipstick person.  I went through a number of other shades from the stand, swatching them on the back of my hand, and my boyfriend helped me pick this little beauty - Coral Bliss.  He also treated me to it for passing my second year at university (2:1, yippee!), thanks Rob!
