Lately, we're beginning to see the first signs of spring. Hopefully I'm not jinxing it, but I've been enjoying clear blue skies and leaving my hat and gloves at home. When it comes to beauty looks, I love spring and summer - I am a sucker for a pastel lip, fresh base and bronzed complexion. I've already phased out my deep vampy lipsticks and the paler shades have been on their way into my makeup bag. These are the shades I'll be reaching for the most over the next few weeks.
Spring is the perfect time of year for pinks. At the moment I can't get enough of the ColourPop Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick in Solow. It's a gorgeous mid pink with slight blue undertones which dries to a true matte long-lasting finish. I'm not a big fan of high-maintenance top-ups, so anything long-lasting is straight in my good books. I received a miniature sample of Benefit Lollitint a few months ago which I have been using as a lip stain. It isn't highly pigmented, so it's perfect for easy day-to-day wear. The last pink I can't get enough of is MAC Giddy because of it's easy-to-wear lustre finish. It's a neutral pink shade with some shimmer in the bullet, although I can't detect any shimmer once it's applied. Admittedly, this needs regular top-ups, but it fades so evenly that it doesn't matter it you forget.
I wear nudes all year round, so this category isn't much of a change for me. I am still loving my Charlotte Tilbury Mini Lipstick Charms. This spring I know I'll be reaching for Bitch Perfect over and over again, it's a warm nude which I feel suits my skin tone so much better and it's so creamy and comfortable to wear. I love it! I don't often wear lip glosses, but when I fancy a low-maintenance hint of neutral tint I reach for the NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu. It's pretty highly pigmented for a gloss, and it's the least sticky formula I've tried!
Another nude shade I can't get enough of is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm. Another warm-toned nude, but this time in a matte liquid lipstick. This feels virtually undetectable on the lips, and although I wish it was a little longer lasting, for the low price I can't really complain!
I am a complete sucker for peachy-coral lipsticks. I honestly miss them during the colder months, and always look forward to the sun coming out so I get bring them out again. I love the YSL Rouge Volupte in Peach Passion. This one does require a bit of maintenance to keep it looking it's best because it's not very long lasting and it doesn't fade evenly, but the colour is so gorgeous that I can't help reaching for it! It also helps that the packaging is to die for. My all time favourite spring/summer lipstick is MAC Coral Bliss. I love it. It's the most beautiful creamy light coral shade which is comfortable to wear, compliments my skin tone and is just all-round beautiful. The last peachy shade on my list is the Maybelline Colour Sensational lip gloss in Glorious Grapefruit. Another gloss which injects quite a lot of colour without being sticky on the lips.
What are your Spring lipstick picks? I'd love to hear your recommendations!
Such nice shades for spring. I've also been reaching for my spring shades over the deep berry ones recently - spring is coming! <3 I have the same YSL lipstick, but it rubs of so easily. I feel like I can only use it if I know I won't be getting thirsty in a while lol. XO

You're completely right about the YSL lipstick, but it's so gorgeous that I don't mind a top up every so often!
