Game Changing Beauty

Game Changing Beauty Products Urban Decay Benefit The Balm MAC Makeup

Every now and again, I find a beauty product which completely changes my makeup routine, and I know I'll be repurchasing for a long, long time.  These are the current game-changing products I have in my stash which I just can't get enough of.

If you've read my blog for a while, you're probably sick of hearing about the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer (and the foundation too) but I can't stop talking about it.  In my Makeup Favourites of 2015 post, I crowned it my favourite beauty product of 2015, and it definitely deserved that title.  I have fallen in love with this little tube of creamy concealer and I haven't even looked at another concealer since adding it to my collection!

I was happily using my Benefit Gimme Brow to neaten my unruly eyebrows every day until I spotted the purple packaging of the Urban Decay Brow Tamer.  After this comparison post between the two, it was clear to see how in love with this product I was.  The packaging is gorgeous, the product is fantastic and the applicator is exactly what I wanted.  I use this every single day without fail, sometimes on it's own and sometimes paired with my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade.

Yep, more Urban Decay.  I have fallen head over heels in love with the Afterglow Powder Blush in Video.  In the past, I've only really owned pink and coral blushers, so this browny matte nude was very different for me, but I have no idea why it took me so long to try this sort of shade.  It's perfect for pairing with any makeup look, and I find myself reaching for it day in, day out.  The rest of my extensive blush collection has been left in the drawer!

Us oily-skinned girls have a bit of a fear of making our shiny skin appear even shinier than it really is, so I put off buying any sort of highlighter for such a long time.  After a lot of #bbloggers chats enabling me and reading so many reviews, I took the plunge and bought The Balm's Mary Loumanizer highlighter and fell head over heels in love with it.  I apply it using the Zoeva Luxe Highlight brush to the tops of my cheekbones mostly, but I also dab it in my inner corner, cupids bow and on my brow bone.

I haven't been very loyal to mascaras in the past, but I'm on my third mini tube of Benefit Roller Lash mascara and I can't see me stopping anytime soon.  I'm not sure I'd have even picked it up if it hadn't been a freebie in a magazine, but I quickly fell in love with it, and when I got to the end of the little tube, I found myself repurchasing.  It curls, lengthens and volumises my lashes while adding a true black colour.  What more can a girl ask for?!

Lastly, I am forever looking for the perfect setting powder.  I have tried so many different brands and types, but I have finally found the perfect powder.  The MAC Studio Fix powder is what dreams are made of.  It mattifies, sets foundation and adds a bit of coverage without looking cakey or powdery.

What are your game changing beauty products?

  9. I love my UD Naked concealer - although I'm almost out! I also use the Chill Makeup Setting spray and this is definitely a holy grail for me. I think I'll forever repurchase. Blush wise, I'm absolutely obsessed with MAC Margin. It's the perfect peachy, shimmery blush. Great post. x

  11. That concealer must be pretty good! I'm still yet to get my hands on it, as I am a fan of the NARS concealer. I really like the mary lou highlighter as well, although I have found it doesn't quite give me as much shimmer as I'd like. But if you have oily skin then it makes sense that you'd want something with a little bit less shimmer! I'll definitely check out the UD brow tamer, I definitely need something like that in my life! Fab post, pictures look great xxx

  13. I really need to hop on the Urban Decay blush train after reading this post! They just kill it with their packaging, don't they? Will give the Benefit Roller Lash a try after I finish my tube of They're Real. Thanks for the recommendations! x
