Blistex Medplus, Lush Bubblegum lip scrub, Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick, Look Beauty Lipstick in Hyper Melon, Rimmel Apocalips in Stellar (review here), Mac Costa Chic, Mac Impassioned (review here), Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya (review here)
First things first - I'm on holiday :))) wooo! This is the first of a couple of scheduled posts I've sorted out for while I'm in the south of France on a family holiday for two weeks so that my little section of the internet isn't completely dead while I'm gone. Hopefully at this exact moment in time I'm lapping up the sunshine eating delicious food and sipping cool rosé.
I love choosing which makeup items to take on holiday. Although I don't have a huge collection, I have quite a few bits and pieces to choose from, and these are the lip products that I've been reaching for this summer.
The first two products are for keeping my lips in top condition. Recently I can't even leave the house without Blistex Medplus, it is an absolute saviour for my dry lips and I apply it every night without fail, so this is definitely accompanying me on holiday for nightly applications. The Lush lip scrub does an excellent job of keeping my lips smooth and soft ready for lipstick application.
I rarely wear makeup during the day on holiday, but in the evenings I like to reach for a bit of bronzer, peachy cheeks, lashings of mascara and a bold lip. The JBK balm stain in Lovesick is a gorgeous bright pink that leaves behind a bright stain - no need for regular reapplications with this! Look Beauty's Hyper Melon is a gorgeous colour with possibly the most moisturising formula I've ever tried. Unfortunately it's need for regular re-application has meant it didn't make the cut for holiday, but it is such a lovely summery shade. I love my Apocalips in Stellar and I just couldn't leave it behind. Its a gorgeous summer shade with fuss-free application and long-lasting colour - into the suitcase it goes!
As you can see, I've had a bit of a problem with my Costa Chic. After a melting incident, it's a mess so I won't be taking it on holiday with me, truth be told I'm afraid I'll return to a puddle of Costa Chic after a warm day by the pool and that isn't a risk I'm willing to take! The colour is ideal for summer and although I'm not usually a huge fan of frosted finish, I can't resist swiping this on when the sun comes out. Impassioned seems to survive the higher temperatures, so this will be joining me in the sun. This is the ultimate bright pink statement lip to pair with a summer dress. For days where I'm fancying a less bold lip choice, the Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya is my moisturising product of choice to add a hint of peach and gloss.
I think four holiday choices is pretty good considering what I've narrowed it down from, however all of these shades are regulars in my summer makeup routine and I recommend every one of them! Do you go for bold lip choices on holiday or stick to neutrals? What's your perfect summer shade?
