Putting Oils on Oily Skin

Oil Hair Skin Make Up Remover Oily skin Garnier L'Oreal Liz Earle Facial Superskin Concentrate

You wouldn't believe me if I told you how long I avoided putting anything remotely oily on my skin.  I have super oily skin so I've always been very cautious of making it oilier.  I've become a bit braver over the last year or so, and have found a few oil-based products which actually work for my skin.

Garnier Ultimate Blends The Sleek Perfector Oil - Alongside oily skin comes greasy hair.  When the hair oil trend started I avoided it like the plague, but when I began lightening my hair I was desperate to keep it in good condition, so I bit the bullet and bought a hair oil.  I've tried quite a few now, and this one is by far my favourite.  This bottle of oily goodness smooths my hair, makes it look shiny and sleek, helps protect it from heat damage and smells incredible. And on top of all of that it's a bargain - less than a tenner (here).

L'Oreal Absolute Makeup Remover Eye and Lip - this is one of those bi-phase solutions, and nothing removes eye-makeup like it.  Water proof mascara is wiped away easily using a little bit of this on a cotton pad.  It doesn leave behind a bit of residue, but nothing a good cleanse can't get rid of.  I've gone through around five bottles of this and I still love it.

Liz Earle Superskin Concentrate - Putting oil on my face was the thing I was most nervous about because it's the part that bothers me the most.  I pop one pump of this facial oil on each night after cleansing and toning.  Over night it sinks in and when I wake up my skin feels plump, hydrated and good. I never thought I'd like this, but I have fallen head-over-heels for it, I'm on my second bottle and I still love it!

I've completely changed my outlook on oil-based products, I've even got my eye on the Original Source Skin Quench Body Oil Spray!

  1. I have oily skin too and seriously avoided oil-based products for the exact same reason! Now I'm currently loving the Super Facilaist by Una Brennan Vitamin C+ Skin Renewal Cleansing Oil for a bit of a radiance boost and it's amazing as a first cleanser to remove makeup :) x

  2. I have really oily skin too and tend to keep well away, but these products sound great. Maybe I will venture into oilier products : ) xx
