Autumn Beauty Favourites
In my opinion, once December 1st rolls around, autumn is over and winter starts. It seems to instantly get colder, scraping frost from my windscreen is a daily job and glittery sparkly goodness is in. I'm usually more of a summer girl, but I really enjoyed autumn this year. These are the beauty bits I couldn't get enough of over the last few months.
I would love to have a signature scent which I wore all year round, but I just can't seem to stick to one! I do tend to have a favourite every season, and this autumn it's definitely been Burberry Body (post here). All summer I wore fruity, floral scents, so it's nice to wear something different. Body is a feminine fragrance with a few deeper notes to keep it sophisticated which I just can't stop spritzing lately!
There are three powdery products I've been loving this Autumn. Firstly, MAC StudiFix powder foundation has been a lifesaver. Work has been pretty stressful lately, and my skin has definitely suffered because of it. I have been relying pretty heavily on concealer to cover my blemishes, but this powder is an added coverage boost after foundation to make sure any redness is well and truly covered, and it's also ideal for top-ups throughout the day.
I've been adding a bit of colour to my complexion with the Urban Decay Afterglow Powder blush in Video (post here) which is the perfect neutral brown-toned rose. This blush is a matte shade, so I've been grabbing The Balm's Mary Loumanizer highlighter to give me a bit of a glow.
On my eyes, I've either been smoking out the Sephora eye pencil in Cocoa or the NYX Jumbo eye pencil in rust with a fluffy blending brush, or using the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette to create a subtle smokey eye and lining my upper lash line with the Soap and Glory Supercat liquid eye liner. Either way, I've been filling in my brows using the Anastasia Beverly Hills dipbrow pomade in medium brown every single day - I love it!
Tis the season to wear a bold lip, so I've been cracking out the darker shades in my collection over the last few months. I've fallen head over heels with the NYX Slide on Lip pencil in Dark Soul; I either wear it alone or to line my lips before popping on wither Urban Decay Gash, Rimmel 107 or Mac Rebel. If I'm fancying something a bit more neutral, the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm is a gorgeous pinky-nude which can be worn with any eye and cheek combination.
What are your autumn/winter makeup bits? I'm always looking for more to add to my stash!
