Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market
Two weeks ago, my parents came down to visit Rob and I in Portsmouth for the weekend and to start getting into the Christmas spirit. What better way is there to start feeling festive than spending Sunday wandering around a Christmas market?! We jumped in the car and headed to Winchester cathedral for the day.
It took us forever to park, but it was worth the wait - Winchester Cathedral is beautiful, Winchester as a city is wonderful and the bustling market was exactly what I was hoping for. There are endless wooden stallsfilled with everything you can imagine; Christmas decorations, home made soaps, wooden carvings, crockery and everything in between.
The madagascan vanilla candy floss was to die for, and the market was just the right amount busy; there were enough people to have a good buzz in the atmosphere but it was still enjoyable to walk around and enjoy looking at all of the stalls. When we visited it was the first weekend of the Christmas market, and it wasn't exactly quiet, and I have a feeling that it'll get busier and busier the closer it gets to Christmas so if you're gonna go, go soon!
