The Tenth Hole Tea Rooms, Southsea

The Tenth Hole Tea Rooms Southsea Portsmouth Chocolate Brownie Cheesecake

When it feels like we're finally coming to the end of a month of particularly horrible weather, as soon as the sun shines through the clouds I can't wait to get outside and make the most of it.  A few weeks ago, there were blue skies in Portsmouth so Rob and I headed straight for Southsea beach for a stroll.  By a complete coincidence, ten minutes later we were outside The Tenth Hole.  This adorable cafe claims to be the best tea rooms in Southsea, and I'm definitely not going to argue with that claim.

Although we have been a few times already (post here), I still like to scan the menu because it changes pretty often and you never know what goodies you might find! After a quick browse of the menu, I went for the simple option - a cheese toastie.  It came with a little bowl of ready salted crisps, and it was deeeelicious.  Rob had one of the specials which was written on a chalkboard just inside the door and he loved every bite!

If you've visited or read about The Tenth Hole before, you'll know that it is literally impossible to not try their huge range of cakes.  There is a counter filled with all different options - there's something for everyone!  You can have a quick look at some photos of their different creations here, but there's nothing like having a browse in the flesh!

Rob and I shared a chocolate brownie cheesecake and it was heavenly.  The slices are huge, so after our lunch we definitely didn't need one each, but if I hadn't been so full I definitely could have eaten it all over again.  The soft, chocolatey brownie base was the perfect accompaniment for the creamy cheese and the sweet chocolate on the top.

I. Loved. It.

Have you ever visited the Tenth Hole? Where are your favourite tea rooms?

  4. Such a shame that this is the other side of the country to me! My favourite in Nottingham is the White Rabbit Tea House. They have an amazing selection of cakes and their crockery is so cute.
