High Street Heroes: Revlon Lip Crayons

If you're a long-term reader you'll probably know how much I love the Revlon lip crayons, they are my ultimate go-to lip product because they are so easy to use/wear/apply.  They are without a doubt my favourite lip products available on the high street. I have built up a little collection of four of the balm stains and two of the matte balms and I just love them.  I don't have any of the lacquer balms mainly because they look similar on the lips to the balm stains, but don't leave a stain behind.  I'm really happy with my little collection, but I can't help lusting after a couple more... oops!

I have four of the Just Bitten Kissable balm stains in a range of colours - Romantic, Crush, Lovesick and Cherish.  They all leave behind a gorgeous stain when the balm fades which I absolutely love because I am definitely not the sort of girl that reapplies lipstick every twenty minutes.  The stain fades really evenly so you aren't left with a weird lip-liner effect after a few hours, and it withstands eating and drinking pretty well.  Romantic is a true red shade which can be applied lightly to stay sheer or built up to a more opaque shade.  The stain left behind this is so long lasting making it perfect for long days.  Crush is a purpley berry shade which is my go-to every day lip product in autumn/winter without being too vampy.  Lovesick is a really bright blue-toned pink which my mum hates but my boyfriend and I love.  It's such a bright girlie shade it feels like a pick-me-up; it's impossible to feel sad with this on your lips! My last balm stain is Cherish which is a baby blue-toned pink which is my least favourite because the balm part of it it kind of frosty which I'm just not keen on. It's such a shame because nice shade once it fades so I do still wear it sometimes, but I just wiiish it wasn't so frosty!

I also have two of the newer matte balms which I adore.  They look matte but aren't at all drying or uncomfortable to wear, they're relatively long lasting for a high-street matte lip product and they're so opaque.  I definitely recommend grabbing a few of these - they're definitely worth the money.  I have a bright orange shade called Audacious which I need to be feeling brave to wear out of the house and I think will look even better with a tan but I love it and it got quite a few compliments.  This is the newest addition to my collection but I'm so glad I grabbed it, I can't wait to wear it on holiday in the summer.  Lastly is Elusive, which is pretty much as close to nude as I go.  As much as I wish I could pull off a nude lip, I've never found anything that doesn't drain all the colour from my face.  Elusive is an easy-to-wear everyday shade that I find myself reaching for on a day-to-day basis.

I completely recommend these lip crayons, I adore the packaging, formulation and shade range and they're pretty cheap too.  I can't help having my eye on a few more of these beauties - I fancy picking up Standout (matte balm) and Rendezvous (balm stain).  I'm planning on doing a few more 'high street hero' posts showcasing some of my favourite drugstore products that I just can't get enough of.  What are your high street heroes?

  1. I've had three of them from the first range but found that the paler shades got patchy really easily after a while and didn't layer well! The new lacquer range is sooo promising though, I want some!

  4. I always look at the matte balms and plan on getting one but then I get overwhelmed by the beautiful colors and can't decide which ones I want so then I just leave! I don't know what is wrong with me because I want some soooo badly. I'm so happy that the drugstore finally has matte lip crayons because all the high end ones make me go broke (I'm looking at YOU, Tarte!).

Hopefully next time I go I'll just to say to heck with it and grab one! (or maybe 2).
