Getting Organised

Organisations Life Diary Planner Iphone IPad Apps

Since returning to work at the start of September after six weeks off for the summer holidays, I've had to get myself organised again to keep on top of work, blogging and general life admin.

I buy an academic diary every year; as a teacher it doesn't make sense to use a January-January diary.  This year I've gone for this adorable floral Cath Kidston one.  It's a week-to-view, which I prefer, but every week the day sections are on the left-hand page, and the right-hand page is entirely reserved for notes - it's perfect for jotting to-do lists, reminders and notes to myself because now everything's all in one place rather than scattered throughout random notebooks.  I tend to stick to using this for work-related things; this A5 diary is glued to my side all week long and makes sure I don't forget anything important.

When it comes to blogging, I use the calendar app on my iPad.  I use it to plan out my posts and record when an idea turns into a real post, and when the post goes live.  It's perfect for checking on-the-go what post should be going live and when, so I can coordinate any posts on other social media at the same time.  I also make the most of the reminders and notes apps to record ideas, photos to take, posts to write, and anything else which pops into my head.  I keep my iPad next to my bed so if any brilliant ideas come to me late at night, I can quickly write them down before I forget.

My phone is always with me, so I make sure all of my calendars/notes/reminders are synced between devices so I can read them or add to them at any time, regardless of where I am or what I'm doing.

What do you use to keep yourself organised? I've got my eye on some Rifle Paper Co. stationery next!

  1. What a pretty diary! I use a Paperchase diary for work/university and just general notes (I already have my 2016 ready to go) and I've just ordered a blog planner for everything blog related which I can't wait to start using! X

  4. Great idea about using calendar on the ipad for blogging. I really want to separate my blog/work tasks and as I'm using my phone for clients requests, my ipad can be used particularly for blogging! thanks for sharing!

I much prefer the google calender and notebooks to make endless lists of lists of things I need to get done!

It's so hard working full time and blogging too but you're doing a great job so far x
