Holiday Makeup

Holiday Beauty Makeup Favourites NARS Urban Decay Laura Mercier Benefit YSL MUFE The Body Shop

While I'm on holiday, I like to change up my makeup a bit.  I look for multi-purpose products to save on weight and I go for a generally lighter look.  These are the makeup products I couldn't get enough of during my week in Marbella.

Base first; I used the Indeed Labs Hydraluron moisturiser every day, and primed my skin using the Illamasqua Matte Veil primer (review here).  The Laura Mercier Mineral Powder Foundation is my go-to holiday base.  It has pretty impressive coverage and it's so easy to apply and build as much as you want.  I have a shade or two darker than usual; perfect for holiday.

I used The Body Shop Honey Bronzer on my cheek bones/temples to add a bit of dimension, then used the Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Lush Nectarine to put a bit of peachy colour on my cheeks.  The hint of shimmer is perfect for the sunnier weather.

To avoid an overly powdery look, the Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray makes everything look a bit more skin-like and keeps my base in place in the warm weather.

The absolute saviour was the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette; AKA the ultimate multi-tasker.  Virgin is the perfect highlighter, Foxy evens out redness (sunburn, oops), Naked is a neutral eye shadow, Faint is ideal in the crease and in my brows and Crave is a gorgeous liner.  I used it every day without fail!

After running a bit of faint through my brows I used Benefit Gimme Brow (review here) to keep them in place, or I sometimes skipped the powder and just used this for a more natural look.  My mascara of choice was YSL Baby Doll - it separates and lengthens my lashes and it doesn't smudge or flake in the heat.  Lastly NARS Matte Lip Pencil in Red Square (review here) is such a gorgeous bright orangey red; the perfect holiday shade.

Holiday Beauty Makeup Favourites MUFE HD Make Up For Ever High Definition Transluscent Powder Miniature Sephora

Oily skinned girls can spend next-to-no time in a hot country without a powder.  I went for this mini Make Up Forever HD Powder which I picked up from Sephora (haul on the way) which was perfect for keeping my skin shine-free.

What are your favourite holiday makeup products?

  5. I plan my makeup bag thoroughly before going on holiday, pack it all nicely and then... wear none of it whilst there, ha! My makeup never looks nice on holiday, as I get awfully pink due to being so pale! This is a lovely selection xx
