Lower Than Atlantis at Cardiff Student Union

A few weeks ago while we were home for the Easter break, after a bit of food at Bills (those sweet potato fries are to die for) Rob and I headed to Cardiff Student Union to watch Lower than Atlantis for the second time in two years.

Upping my Eyebrow Game

I have finally found an eyebrow routine I'm happy with, and after putting off trying the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade for so long, it turns out this was what I needed all along.

Jodi Picoult: Leaving Time

Since reading Nineteen Minutes I've been looking to read another book by Jodi Picoult, and I also loved My Sister's Keeper, so I had pretty high hopes.  It took me a while to find one that took my fancy while flicking through the Amazon Kindle store, but I'm a sucker for a good thriller so a missing Mum sounded good to me!

Coast Cafe

At the start of April it was my Mum's birthday, and although she didn't fancy doing anything particularly special, seeing as my sister and I were off for Easter we decided to pop out for lunch.  We went down to Swansea marina to eat at Coast Cafe (website here) and it was delicious.

Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer

Super oily skin means that primer isn't optional unless I want my make up to slide straight off my face.  After a quick tweet this little tube was recommended a few times, so I bit the bullet and made an order.

Elizabeth Haynes: Into the Darkest Corner

This is without a doubt the best book I have read in a long, long time.  I began and finished it all in one day, because I just couldn't put it down!

Current Beauty Favourites

I'm rubbish at keeping up with monthly favourites posts so I've given up - I'll just stick to these round-up favourites posts every now and again I think!  These are the bits and bobs I can't get enough of lately.

MAC Powders

As a seriously oily-skinned girl I am a big fan of powders.  For years I used the Seventeen Miracle Matte powder, then moved on to the less cakey Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder - I used both of these for both setting my make up and topping up throughout the day.  Since finishing university and working full time, my bank account is looking a bit more healthy, so I've tried out a few of the matte black MAC compacts and basically I'm hooked.

Linwood Barclay: No Time for Goodbye

Admittedly, the first half of this book didn't have me hooked, but for some reason I needed to find out what would happen at the end, the more I read the more I was drawn in, until I couldn't put it down without wondering about the outcome.

Meat and Barrel

With a boyfriend who's a sucker for a burger and ale how could we not try this place?  It's relatively new to Southsea and every time we walk past and glance through the window he gets sucked in by the huge amount of ale pumps lined up across the bar.  We popped in a few weeks ago to grab a few drinks and a burger and I can sum up our visit in one word - YUM.

Urban Decay Baked Eye Shadow and Moonflower Palette

I am in love with the formulation of Urban Decay eye shadows, and after lusting after a copper-bronze shade for months and not finding one in any of the Naked palettes I took to the internet to find what I was looking for and came up trumps with Baked.

Jo Nesbo: The Son

I am loving a crime/thriller read lately, and this one is no exception.  I'm embarrassed to admit I was sucked in by the "No. 1 Bestseller" label, but I'm glad I did - this story is a good one.

Sleeping with my Boyfriend

After Rob showed me this video on YouTube I've been noticing more things about sleeping next to him.  For two years while we were living two hours apart I guess I didn't notice when we did get a chance to sleep in the same bed, but since moving in together it is a lot more obvious!  This is what I've discovered since September.
