Brands I Want to Try More From

Since starting a proper grown-up job in September and having a couple of quid lying around I can't help having a look around the internet for even more beauty bits to add to my collection.  There are a few brands I've tried a few bits from (and loved) which I'd love to pick up more from.

Mary Kubica: The Good Girl

This book popped up on my Amazon recommendations, and for less than £2 I thought it was worth a shot.  The product description said it was one of the top ten General Fiction books of 2014 and compared it to Gone Girl which I love, so I was sold.

Brand Focus: Urban Decay

I am a bit of a long-term lover of Urban Decay - their packaging makes a welcome change from the usual matte black a lot of brands seem to go for and their products are high-quality and beautiful to wear.  These are the Urban Decay bits and bobs in my stash.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit

I'm a bit of a self-confessed contour newbie, but I love the idea of making my balloon head look like I have some sort of bone structure.  For months I used Benefit Hoola (which I still love) to put a bit of a shadow in the hollows of my cheeks and on my temples, but when I finally finished it I made a quick Cult Beauty purchase of the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit in light/medium (link here).

Dainty Jewellery

After being loyal to chunky statement necklaces for a good few years, my preferences have changed lately and I've been craving dainty gold chains around my neck.  These are the three I have on rotation at the moment.

The Topshop little row of glittery triangles was a gift from a friend and it's adorable.  Perfect to pair with any top or dress, and sits just below my collar bone.

The curved bar and hammered disk were both bought recently from PAB Jewellery on Etsy (link here).  I bought them separately with the intention of layering them (see them layered here), but I also sometimes wear them alone.  The bar is 14in and the disk is 16in.  They are both 14K gold filled metal, and really high quality.  They arrived really quickly after ordering, and it was really easy to buy from the seller.  As you can probably tell, I can't get enough of them!

MAC Lipstick Collection

Being in a shop that stocks MAC is like being in a sweet shop.  It's pretty hard to make any kind of decision, but I'm usually drawn to the lipstick stand - even if I don't buy one I end up with a hand covered in swatches.  I bought my first MAC lipstick in 2011, and now I have a little collection of 9 lipsticks that I'm very happy with.

Beauty Mistakes

Oh god.  Yep, all of these photos are of me.  As you can see from these pictures, since I discovered beauty I've loved changing up how I look, not always in a good way! These are some of the mistakes I've made in the past.

Concealer Favourites

This is probably the first time in 5 years I haven't had a few tubes of the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer lying around my bedroom.  Nothing's wrong with it, I've just found a few concealers from other brands that I love even more.

Lucy Christopher: Stolen

Lately I can't get enough of a good thriller, and although this story was unlike anything I'd ever read, the endless 5-star reviews were enough to tempt me.

Handbag Heroes

I don't really carry many makeup bits around with my on a day-to-day basis, but the ones I do lug around with me are pretty impressive.

NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

I am still hunting for the perfect foundation.  I want coverage not cakeyness, luminous not greasy and long lasting not eaten up my my face.  Just the name of the newest foundation Release from NARS sounded pretty impressive, so I gave it a shot.
