Circolo

Date night rolled around again a few weeks ago, so we headed to Circolo in Southsea to satisfy our pizza cravings and we certainly weren't disappointed.

We walked in without booking a table which may have been a bit silly - it's a small cosy restaurant - but the waitress kindly jiggled some tables around to fit us in.  The decor is kind of mis-matched, urban and rustic, but I really liked it - there was a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere which was really enjoyable to be part of.

Circolo is a pizzeria so the menu is mostly made up of a range of pizzas, but there are also salads, pastas and one lone burger to choose from.  The menu is available to view on the website (here), but there is also specials written on the wall to choose from.

I went for a four-cheese pizza, Rob went for one of the specials packed with different meats and we had some (increible) skinny fries to share.  The pizzas arrived on massive wooden palettes and they were clearly cooked in a traditional pizza oven - they were smokey and crispy and delicious.  Even my Dominos cravings were satisfied!  Although the restaurant was only small, there was a range of drinks to chose from at the little bar at the back.

Neither of us had a dessert, but we couldn't help nosing at how delicious they looked on the table next to us!  We will definitely be back!
