Valentines Day Gift Ideas for Her
Every time a gift-buying opportunity comes up, I find myself searching the internet for wonderful gifts that someone would love to receive, so this year I thought I'd contribute my gift ideas for the lovely ladies in your life. Of course Valentines day is around the corner, so you might be looking for a gift for February 14th, but these gifts would be perfect for birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries or any other occasion. Amara kindly sent me a few bits and pieces to include in this post (marked with a *), but I have added a few bits and pieces of my own.
I'm starting with a few stationery bits and pieces, because at the moment everyone seems to be loving a cute notepad and pen. Admittedly these Kate Spade paperclips* are a bit of a luxury gift, because ordinarily I'd never spend £12 on paper clips but that's the wonderful thing about gifts. In my opinion, the best gifts are things I'd love to own, but wouldn't buy for myself. They look so cute clipped to the corner of pretty much anything and I just love them.
For some reason, when I spotted this Ted Baker mini notepad and pen* on the Amara website, I didnt expect it to be quite this small, but it's so adorable I can't help but love it! I am a sucker for anything coral and gold, and this is such a gorgeous little set. It's really high quality - although the pen is small, it still has a really satisfying weight, and the paper in the notebook is thick. It's perfect for popping in your handbag to carry around with you.
If you've read my Chroma Stationery Notebooks post, you'll know how much I love these notebooks. I don't know anyone who doesn't love a personalised gift, and with these notebooks you can choose the colour and embossing to suit whoever you're buying it for. They're amazing quality and such a great price, making them a perfect gift.
Lately, everyone seems to love a weekly planner. This Caroline Gardner Pina Colada weekly planner* is so adorable and they're so helpful! I love using this one in work to make sure I don't forget anything (this happens more than I'd like to admit), and I know lots of bloggers use them to keep on top of posting, taking photos, social media and twitter chats.
The adult colouring book craze seems to be continuing, and I have completely bought into it. There are so many beautiful books of wonderful drawings, but this Liberty London one is by far my favourite. The intricate floral patterns are so calming to colour , and they're waaay more time consuming than I expected, so I can't see me ever completing the whole book!
If you fancy spending a bit more, the Olivia Burton watches are so beautiful. I have a full post about my Silver Midi Dial bracelet watch here, and I have worn my rose gold and mink midi dial watch every day for over a year now, and I still can't get enough of them.
For the gadget-lover in your life, I completely recommend the XMI X-Mini II 2nd Generation Capsule Speaker. It's tiny, so you can take it anywhere with you, but the sound it still really clear, high quality and pretty loud considering the side. After one charge it lasts so long, and when you do need to charge it you can use the usb slot on your laptop. It's compatible with pretty much anything with a standard headphone jack. I've used it with an iPod, iPad, my phone and my laptop. I love it, and I completely recommend it!
Perfume seems to be a bit of a go-to gift to buy and ladies in your life. As much as everyone loves to receive a gift set, how often do you actually use the little shower gel and moisturiser? Never.
Marc Jacobs do the cutest little sets of four different miniature perfumes which, in my opinion, are the perfect gift.I have the Daisy set which I bought in the airport, but you can get a different set from Argos.
For me to buy a gift for someone who loves beauty, it's pretty easy, but I bet it's difficult for anyone who doesn't spend half of their life reading about beauty bits on the internet. These are my top picks for the beauty lover in your life.
I adore the Zoeva Rose Gold Eye set, and there is such a huge range of brushes that everyone will find what they want in this gorgeous set. The Maggs London makeup bags are well made in a range of gorgeous fabrics, and they're spacious enough to fit everything you need in it without encouraging you to bring your full collection of lipsticks with you! Mine is the Loveday which is currently sold out, but there's load of different patterns and colours to choose from.
Everyone is going crazy for Charlotte Tilbury at the moment, and in my opinion it's for good reason, everything I've tried I have loved. The Dolce Vita palette is the perfect luxury gift and I cant imagine anyone's eyes not lighting up opening this. If you're going for a luxury gift, I also completely recommend the Chanel and Dior nail varnishes. They are amazingly high quality and they just look luxurious.
I can't get enough of these copper letters from Oliver Bonas, they look gorgeous wherever you put them. Mine was a gift I received for Christmas, and I was so happy to open it! The Delight Department Cupcake cases* are only £2.50 and they're adorable, especially the ones saying you are sweet. Finally, I miraculously won these adorable prints from Dainty Daisy Designs in a Twitter giveaway, and I love them! The perfect gift for a blogger - we love a quote print in our photos!
