Makeup Favourites 2015

Make Up Favourites 2015 Round Up Beauty

Every year, I read every single 'Best Of ...' post I can find at the end of the year; if someone has included a product in a round up of things from their entire year it's got to be pretty impressive! I haven't done this sort of post since 2013, but I have found so many incredible products this year that I just had to write one!  Over the next few days I'm planning to post a little 2015 review post to round up everything else I've loved this year, but for today I'm focusing on make up!

Make Up Favourites 2015 Round Up Beauty Base Face

Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray - To be honest I haven't tried too many different facial spritzes, but I'm pretty confident that's because I am so in love with this one.  On my oily skin, this spray is perfect at finishing off my makeup, making sure nothing looks too powdery and keeping my makeup in place for a bit longer.

MAC Studio Fix Powder - After becoming a green-eyed monster watching my sister use this, I quickly added it to my collection and fell in love with it immediately.  I use it every day to set my foundation; it adds an extra bit of coverage and sets my foundation without looking cakey or powdery.

Urban Decay Afterglow Powder Blush in Video - I have fallen head-over-heels in love with this blush.  I use it more than any other blush, the neutral shade makes it perfect to pair with literally any make up and because it's matte I can pile on as much highlighter as I fancy!

The Balm Mary Loumanizer - For the longest time I was a bit scared of putting highlighter on my oily skin, because I didn't want to make myself look shinier, but after all of the hype surrounding this product I couldn't avoid it any longer.  I am in love with this beautiful product - I put it on my cheekbones, brow bone, cupids bow and inner corner of my eye every day!

Illamasqua Gel Sculpt in Silhouette - As much as I love my Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit, Illamasqua have knocked them out of the park when it comes to contour.  This gel is pretty scary in the bullet, but it applies really sheer and builds up easily.

Make Up Favourites 2015 Round Up Beauty Base Face Concealer

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer - This little tube is without a doubt my favourite product of the year.  I have used it every single day and I am yet to find a single fault.  It covers blemishes like a dream, doesn't crease under my eyes and lasts all day long.  It's love.

Make Up Favourites 2015 Round Up Beauty Eyes

Zoeva Rose Gold Eye Brush Set - Not only are these brushes absolutely beautiful, but they are incredible.  They're so soft, and apply eye shadow like a dream.  I use every single brush in the set, there are none of those brushes that you never use and get shoved in the back of your drawer, and there seems to be everything you need all in one pet - perfect!

Benefit Roller Lash - After using a sample of this which came free in Elle's March issue I haven't looked back.  This mascara really accentuates my lashes by adding length and volume at the same time, and you can layer it really easily without ending up with spidery lashes.  I've taken to buying the miniature bottles because I can use it all up before it begins to dry out, this is my third and I'll definitely be buying a fourth when this one runs out.

Urban Decay Primer Potion - This has been my go-to eye primer for at least two years now.  Nothing keeps my eye shadow from creasing like it.  The neutral shade creates a clean, matte base to apply eye shadow and liner to, and it stays in place all day long! Perfect!

Soap and Glory Supercat Liquid Eye Liner Pen - This eye liner doesn't get anywhere near enough love on my blog because it's amazing. It's so easy to apply and leaves a smooth, opaque black line which lasts all day.  On top of that - it's only £6!

Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers - These are definitely an essential for me, I've been using them for a god few years now and they're still going strong.  Earlier this year I bought some new pads for them from Amazon and they feel like a brand new pair! These are used every single day without fail - love them.

Urban Decay Baked Eye Shadow - Admittedly I found it had to stick to only one eye shadow choice.  I have to mention the gorgeous Urban Decay Naked Basics palette which I have adored this year, the original Naked palette which has everything you could ever need in it, and my new Urban Decay Gwen Stefani palette which is without a doubt the most beautiful palette I own. But, when it comes to choosing my favourite eye shadow of the entire year it has to be this gorgeous bronze.  This shade is gold enough to look incredible in the summer paired with a tan, bronze enough to look fab in autumn/winter and shimmery enough for the festive season.  There is no occasion where this isn't appropriate, and I reach for it more often than anything else in my (extensive) eye shadow collection.

Make Up Favourites 2015 Round Up Beauty eye brows

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade - 2015 was the year of the eyebrows for me; I finally worked out the perfect routine to make them look polished but not over the top.  I have fallen in love with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade, and have enabled a few others to add it to their routine too.  Medium brown is the perfect shade for me, and the creamy gel can be applied as lightly or heavily as you please.

Zoeva 317 Wing Liner Brush - I know I've already mentioned the Zoeva Rose Gold set, but this angled brush is the perfect partner for the ABH Dipbrow, it's thin enough to create the most realistic hair-like strokes (and it's so beautiful!).

Urban Decay Brow Tamer - This brow gel adds a hint of colour and keeps my eyebrows in place all day long without a horrible crispy feeling.  My eyebrows don't feel complete without a few swipes of this.

Make Up Favourites 2015 Round Up Beauty lips

NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Red Square - The most gorgeous bold orange toned red I've ever seen.  Not only is the shade incredible, but it's so comfortable to wear - it's virtually undetectable once it's applied and I am in love with it.

NYX Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm - Even though this is relatively new to my collection, it has very quickly become one of my favourites.  The colour is the perfect flattering nude, and it's so easy to wear; it basically lives in my handbag.

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Liar - I am down to the smallest little nub at the end of this bullet, and I will definitely be purchasing this in full size ASAP because this has been my favourite lip product of the year.  The shade is perfect to wear all-year-round and it's so creamy and comfortable on the lips.

Sephora Matte Lip Cream in 01 - Everyone needs a perfect red in their collection, and for me this is it.  Comfortable to wear, long lasting and a true red shade; perfect for any special occasion.

MAC Cut a Caper Lip Stick - This is summer in a lipstick.  This is a gorgeous peachy coral shade which looks incredible with a tan, is creamy and comfortable to wear and has the lovely typical MAC vanilla scent.

That's it! All of my favourite makeup bits from the last 12 months bundled up in one post! I will include a few other beauty-related bits in my 2015 review so keep an eye out for that.  If you have posted a similar round-up of your favourites from this year, please link it in the comments or send it to me on twitter (@lilieslipbalm) - I love reading them!

Have a wonderful New Year, see you in 2016!

  4. Some great picks there. I heard so much about Soap and Glory Supercat Liquid Eye Liner but I actually didn't like it. It was too dry for my skin, however I agree with you on Anastasia brows, oh lord it is amazing! :) Heroine In Heels
