Southsea Beach Cafe

A few weeks ago my parents popped down to Portsmouth to visit Rob and I.  The Sunday was rainy and grey (typical British summer time) so we headed out to grab some lunch.  I'd heard brilliant things about the Southsea Beach Cafe and it's in the nicest place - right on the seafront - so we gave it a go.

Seeing as we were SO close to the sea (literally like 20 metres) it would have been silly not to go for seafood.  Mum and I went for a crab salad open sandwich, Dad had a sandwich which he pretty much devoured as soon as it hit the table and Rob had these awesome looking fish cakes.  Everything was absolutely delicious.

The whole place is so lovely - everyone seems really relaxed and friendly, and even though it was fab on a rainy day I can imagine it's really impressive when the sun is shining looking at this gorgeous view.

They have a website (here - have a flick through the 'gallery', it'll make your stomach rumble!) and after having a read I'm really fancying their fish evening - watch this space!
