Festive Party Beauty

Festive Christmas Makeup Beauty Party

I'm pretty sure that festive makeup is my ultimate favourite type of look to create.  I love piling the glitter onto my eyelids, going overboard with a highlighter and painting my lips with my favourite shades.  What better time is there to put festive beauty into action than a Christmas party?! I created this look two weeks ago for my work Christmas do, and I can imagine I'll be doing something pretty similar on Christmas day.

Festive Christmas Makeup Beauty Party Primery Illamasqua Urban Decay

Basically any event during the festive season requires long-lasting makeup, so primer is a must.  I am loving Illamasqua matte veil at the moment, and for my eyes I used my trusty Urban Decay Primer Potion.  It isn't photographed, but after applying my makeup I also spritzed the Urban Decay De Slick setting spray to keep everything in play and keep oil at bay.

I'm still reaching for the NARS All Day Luminous foundation daily at the moment, although I have got my eye on the Urban Decay Naked Skin.  I cover any blemishes with the Urban Decay Naked concealer, and pop the MAC Prep and Prime highlighting concealer under my eyes.  I cant get enough of the Illamasqua Gel Sculpt in Silhouette to add a bit of definition to my face, I use the Real Techniques Sculpting brush to apply and blend it - it's such a natural shade.  My foundation was set using MAC Studio Fix powder and as always, The Balm's Mary Loumanizer was dusted on the tops of my cheekbones, in the inner corner of my eyes and on my cupids bow.  I used the Urban Decay Afterglow Powder Blush in Video on my cheeks; I'm using this gorgeous shade every single day at the moment!

I have fallen head over heels in love with my Urban Decay Gwen Stefani palette, so of course it was the first thing I reached for.  I used 1987 all over the lid, with a mixture of Anaheim and Zone in the crease and a bit of Punk in the outer corner and on my lower lash-line. I used Soap and Glory Supercat liner to line my upper lash line with a little flick, and a god few coats of Benefit Rollerlash.

It isn't photographed, but I used the same as always to fill in my brows; Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade followed by Urban Decay Brow Tamer gel.

Festive Christmas Makeup Beauty Party Lips Lip Liner Stick Urban Decay Nyx Clinique

For my lips I fancied a bit of choice - these are my four picks this Christmas.  If I'm feeling a nude I'll go for either Urban Decay Liar or Clinique Nude pop.  For my works do, I went for a festive red - I chose Urban Decay Gash (such a gross name) but I am LOVING this NYX lip liner in Dark Soul.

I wore my lacy Topshop dres, spritzed myself with Burberry Body perfume, curled my hair using my Babyliss wand and drank way to much Prosecco - a good night in my books!

What are your festive beauty essentials?

  1. Great post! Your make-up looks stunning - I've always envied girls with blonde hair as a red lip always looks amazing with it. Hope you have a magical Christmas! xxx
