Everyday Base

Lately everyday I'm finding myself reaching for the same base regardless of what I'm doing or where I'm going.  I love both of these foundations on their own, but together they're a bit of a dream team.

The main reason I started mixing them is because I have Deauville in the NARS All Day Luminous Weightless foundation which is a bit too light for my post-summer skin, and the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light in Intensity 2.0 is a bit dark now my holiday tan is starting to fade.  I tried mixing the two to make a custom shade that suits my current skin tone, and I ended up loving the combination more than I love each foundation on its own.

The Estee Lauder Double Wear Light adds a bit of long-lasting coverage, and the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless adds a healthy glow without getting shiny.  It's perfect! I either buff the foundation in with the Real Techniques Expert Face brush or bounce it over my face using the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

Although the combination of foundations leaves a gorgeous finish, it isn't particularly high coverage.  I love that it lets my skin show through, but not any imperfections.  At the moment I'm using the Estaa Lauder Double Wear Flawless Finish concealer to cover them, but I've got my eye on the Urban Decay Naked Concealer; I've heard nothing but good things about it.
