NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

I am still hunting for the perfect foundation.  I want coverage not cakeyness, luminous not greasy and long lasting not eaten up my my face.  Just the name of the newest foundation Release from NARS sounded pretty impressive, so I gave it a shot.

I'll make this easy with a list; let's start with the good bits:

Pros:

  • it definitely is weightless; it's hardly noticeable on my skin when I wear it which makes such a nice change from feeling like I want to scrub my face clean after a few hours of wear
  • it's long lasting, even on my oily skin
  • it is the least cakey foundation I've ever worn
  • I already knew what colour I'd be thanks to a bottle of Nars Sheer Matte in my make up stash, Deauville is the perfect match
  • it's a very liquidy consistency, making it really easy to apply/blend
  • it covers slight imperfections and any redness etc.
  • the packaging is beautiful and it has a pump

Cons:
  • the super liquidy consistency makes my make-up brushes drink quite a bit of it which is probably quite a waste of money
  • it is a light coverage foundation which doesn't cover scarring or blemishes (although this isn't really a negative for me as I'm more than happy to pop on a dab of concealer over any blemishes)
  • my seriously oily skin isn't mattified for long, although I'm starting to accept that there is no way to keep my skin matte for more than a few short hours
To put it simply, this is the best foundation I've ever tried.  I absolutely love using it every day, and definitely recommend it to anyone who is still searching for their perfect base.

  1. I was really hesitant to try this foundation, I really think I may give it a whirl now! The only thing I worry about is if it makes me break out! :( (unfortunate oily skin gal too) and just got my skin under control with using the bare minerals foundation! does it make you break out? x

    1. It hasn't made me break out at all, and I do find that happens quite often so it might be worth a shot!

      xx
